The Role

You will keep accurate records and documentation throughout the duration of the project to help as the first point of contact for customers technical enquires and support. You will also have good communication skills with the confidence to deliver presentations.

We have an exciting position to join our client based in Ely as a Senior Firmware Engineer. The successful applicant will develop disruptive technologies of tomographic applications with end users primarily in the oil & gas industry but also other industries such as functional brain imaging.

The Role

You will develop software tools for integrated and cross-correlated signal sensors that are driven by advanced physics-based algorithms for complex flow applications. Reporting to the function manager and working closely with other groups and discipline.

Experience/Knowledge

• Deliver appropriate numerical analysis and simulations – validating it with experiments, interpreting and visualising results for accelerated product design and optimisation,
• Write technical reports and memorandums, present results to various audiences, and continue to develop innovative solutions to optimise our array of products,
• Be an effective member of the R&D group by sharing ideas and suggestions and providing real solutions to our product development and optimisation,
• Where appropriate, take ownership of projects, coordinating with colleagues in other disciplines and managing budgetary and resource requirements and leading to ensure the project delivers to the required specification,
• Be adept to PCP and project management methods such as scrum methodology leading high quality sprint meetings while motivating the team,
• Show significant emotional intelligence to work with colleagues and customers – always to satisfy changing customer’s needs, and hence the scrum,
• Develop firmware for embedded systems using C/C++/python to communicate with sensors and electromechanical systems,
• Work closely with hardware/electrical engineers on PCB layout/testing and software to hardware interfaces
• Develop the automated system backend software with python API to communicate with / control embedded systems,
• Design and develop software architecture based on system requirements
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary R&D team to meet project milestones,

Additional Skills

• Qualified to degree level or higher, preferably with post-doctoral or industrial experience within recognised groups, you have experience with high speed electronics using FPGA (VHDL) and advanced algorithm implementation
• You have experience with Analogues electronics and ASIC systems,
• You have experience with low level embedded design of microcontrollers (ARM, Arduino or PIC), embedded computers and hardware integration,
• You have experience with electrical engineering fundamentals, circuits, PCB design, testing, and troubleshooting

We have an exciting position to join our client based in Ely as an Electromagnetic Engineer. The successful applicant will primarily help the oil, gas and energy industries to reduce their environmental footprint using technology that could also spinout to various industries.

The role

You will focus on the development and improvement of a digital Super-Sensing device using Electromagnetic Tomography by improving the sensors sensitivity, the signal processing algorithms and data analytics speed using accelerated computational and electronic hardware based on modern general purpose graphical processing unit (GPGPU) and/or field programmable gate arrays (FPGA).

Experience/Knowledge   

• Ability to use project management principles and techniques to schedule the delivery of multi-party product design (ideally including working with sub-contractors).
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and debugging digital systems.
• Experience in developing and implementing complex imaging algorithms.
• Experience of having adapted complex algorithms into parallel platforms or GPGPUs.
• Knowledge and experience of signal processing techniques and algorithms, particularly those relevant to image or video applications.
• Knowledge of embedded software/Firmware development.
• Knowledge of scientific programming language skills Matlab or C.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital (printed) electronic board design (PCB).
• Strong coding background and previous industrial or research project experience in inverse problems, tomographic techniques, flow imaging and/or complex signal processing.
• Evidence of having project managed a project whether in an industrial or graduate/undergraduate setting would be advisable.

Due to my clients growth, we’re looking for 3 HGV Class 2 Drivers to join their team based just outside Littleport. This role would be suitable for a HGV Driver looking for a better work life balance.

The Role

To lead the daily delivery of a collection round including driving a collection vehicle, carrying out daily maintenance checks and being the responsible person for the vehicle direction. The successful applicant will also resolve issues and problems to ensure service delivery on the round; and report relevant issue.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the conduct of all crew members, bringing any matters of concern to the Assistant Manager.
• Ensuring the crew members follow safe working practices in their day to day activities.
• Ensuring all activities of the crew are carried out using safe working practices in accordance with health and safety policies and reporting any issues to the Assistant Manager
• Ensure the crew members are wearing the correct PPE and reporting any issues immediately to the Assistant Manager.
• Ensuring the round is operated in line with the requirements of the Council’s Operators licence, e.g. breaks taken, daily vehicle checks undertaken, defects reported, vehicles are not overloaded.
• Carrying out maintenance and checks on the allocated vehicle and reporting any defects.
• Collecting all forms of domestic and commercial refuse and/or recycling from any location as directed and clearance of spillages associated with the collection activities. Ensuring the allocated round is completed, returning to areas where collection was not possible first time before leaving the area to attempt collection. 
• Receiving instructions regarding exempt collections, special arrangements and specific collection points and ensuring these are carried out.
• Providing advice, direction and on the job training for agency workers and new employees.
